Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team is a group of skilled and highly engaged people whose main aim is to support people to live independently in their own homes.

We know that every home is different, and our team works with each person to make sure they get the support they need tailored to their unique needs, interests and aspirations.
How it works…
Our Independent Living team live by the mantra that any person has a fundamental right in how they want to live, who they live with and how they receive support.
We take this approach into our unique model whereby we do not own any properties. Instead, we support both individuals and groups of individuals who wish to live together, in their chosen home that they are either renting privately or own.
We celebrate your individuality and understand that your home reflects your personality, interests and aspirations. We design your support around you, with your input, using a holistic framework that is realistic, person – centred and dynamic. We empower you to be the healthiest and happiest version of yourself.

Our Independent Living model focuses on
1. Helping you to create a home that is uniquely yours
2. Empowering you to live your best life as independently as possible
3. Tailoring your supports to meet your individual needs
4. Ensuring you feel a sense of belonging
5. Provide opportunities for continued growth and capacity building through highly skilled staff
6. Encouraging you to stay connected to your family, friends and local community
Funding
Depending on your situation and supports needs there are multiple funding options that the NDIA may consider for your independent living journey. Leisure Networks works mostly with people who have been allocated Supported Independent Living (SIL) funding in their Core Supports budget of their plan.
Home and Living supports are not automatically added to a person’s NDIA plan. If you have a goal of living independently, your Support Coordinator or LAC can help you to start the application process to have your plan reviewed. The NDIA will then work with you to decide on which funding is best suited to your needs.
Further information on how the NDIA can support individuals with their home and living goals can be found via the NDIA website.
