Leisure Networks Proudly Supports Big Freeze Geelong DIY 2024

Disability support provider, Leisure Networks is thrilled to announce its continued support for the Big Freeze Geelong DIY event in 2024: David Meade and Tyler to Take the Plunge!

This year, our CEO David Meade and NDIS participant Tyler will plunge into the icy waters in support of the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND). As part of our commitment to community connection and engagement, Leisure Networks is excited to join forces with this incredible cause for a third year running.

The Big Freeze Geelong DIY, a local initiative inspired by the iconic MCG Big Freeze event, is celebrating its third year. Originating from the Drysdale Football Netball Club, home of Big Freeze Geelong co-ambassador James Breust, the event has grown in popularity and impact. To date, the Big Freeze Geelong DIY group has raised over $120,000 for Fight MND and garnered significant community support.

In preparation for the event, David and Tyler recently braved a 4-degree ice bath at BFT Gym in Grovedale, adding even more ice for good measure! Their dedication to the cause exemplifies the spirit of resilience and camaraderie that defines the Big Freeze Geelong DIY.

Join us on July 2nd at St. Joseph’s Football & Netball Club for all the frosty fun! Bring your family and friends as we make a splash for a great cause 🙌

“We have a fantastic lineup of local legends and sportspeople to announce in the coming weeks,” said event organiser Graeme Reid.

“Being a Sunday event will ensure a huge crowd, as the Geelong community will show strong support. We expect a crowd of 8000 and hope to raise $100,000 this year,” Reid added.
