Leisure Networks COVID-19 Update – 10 July 2020

AN UPDATE ABOUT SERVICES FROM THE LEISURE NETWORKS TEAM

10th July 2020

Hello everyone,

We hope that you and your loved ones are doing well during these challenging times.

Over the past four months we have been changing the way we work to protect the health and safety of our customers and staff. Health and safety is our first priority and the most important issue when making decisions at Leisure Networks.

We must do all we can to minimise the risks of exposure to the COVID-19 virus to both our customers and staff.

With the latest announcement from the Victorian government around COVID-19 and the Stage 3 restrictions for metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire until Wednesday 19th August 2020, we are wanted to let you know how these may impact you.

WHAT WE ARE DOING:

Leisure Networks will continue to work very hard to maintain your services during this time and has put in place the following:

  • A Wellness Check phone-call from one of our friendly team prior to your supports
  • Our Wellness Coordinator, Tegan Curwood who can assist you if you are concerned that you may have COVID-19 phone 5222 3911
  • Information and resources to help you remember the ways to stay safe and healthy

 

WHAT SERVICES WE ARE PROVIDING:

Flexible supports to meet your needs

  • Supporting you in your home or single night 1:1 respite services outside the home
  • Assisting with house cleaning, gardening and meal preparation
  • Taking you to appointments or early morning shopping
  • Supporting you with safe outdoor exercise and activities
  • Picking up your medicines, shopping or other essentials
  • Conducting online learning as part of SLES or other goals

Small social catch-ups

We realise that many people may be missing friends, so we would love to assist you to connect with your old or new friends. If you have a specific interest or a small group of friends that you would like to spend time with let us know. We can offer social catch-ups for groups of 3 people and 1 staff member for activities in the community (keeping within all guidelines).

Overnight respite support

We will continue to offer short overnight respite stays, where you can work on your goals, spend time with friends or explore interests. Our accommodation options within a 60 minute drive of Geelong, provide a variety of experiences during the week and on weekends (keeping within all guidelines).

If you would like to get away for one or two nights – by yourself or with a couple of your LN friends, or even with your siblings, please get in touch with us to discuss your ideas.

Support Coordination Services

Support coordinators continue to provide important support at this time. Our staff are working from home and all communication is being conducted via online conferencing or telephone. This means we can keep delivering the excellent quality of support our customers are used to receiving from Leisure Networks.

SOME THINGS WE ARE NOT DOING AT THE MOMENT: 

Sadly, due to COVID-19 there are some activities and programs that we have suspended until further notice, these include:

  • Social activities in Melbourne city
  • Large group programs & social activities
  • Large group camp weekends
  • The Anglesea resale shed
  • Interstate and international holidays

 

WE ARE STILL HERE – SO PLEASE DON’T HESITATE TO CONTACT US

In this very uncertain time, we want to you to feel safe and connected and we have a kind, caring and skilled team that can assist with making this happen.

We also know that some of you may have health conditions, (diabetes, asthma, etc.) that might cause you additional worry. If there is anything we can do to assist you or if you have special requirements related to your supports please let us know. We are here to help.
