Plan Management – why the personal touch is so important in

Leisure Networks’ plan manager, Cindy, recently had a regular check-in call with an independent support coordinator of one of our NDIS plan management customers.

Cindy had noticed an ongoing fee for Desmond’s monitored personal alarm service, and she wanted to bring it to the support coordinator’s attention.

It turns out that Tom had misplaced the falls watch he purchased in 2020 and, as a result, hadn’t been using it for some time. Additionally, Desmond had moved to a new place but had not updated his supported independent living accommodation address with the alarm service.

Cindy’s proactive call proved to be invaluable. Desmond’s Support Coordinator was grateful for Cindy’s scrutiny. She promptly updated Tom’s address with the service provider and arranged for a new falls device to minimise any potential risks to his well-being.

This collaborative effort showcases great teamwork and emphasises the importance of disability services & support organisations working together to ensure the safety and support of all NDIS participants. It’s a perfect illustration of why the personal touch in care is so vital.
