Greater Geelong and Surf Coast Shire to enter a snap lockdown

Hello everyone,

The Premier today announced two things:

A snap 7 day lockdown from tonight for our local Surf Coast and Greater Geelong communities AND some good news about a plan to get out of these COVID lockdowns.

It is now very clear that COVID 19 is the disease of the unvaccinated. As a country we need everyone who can – to get their two doses of vaccine. This will help us more quickly stop the lockdowns and return to the things we love doing – being out in the community with our friends and family.

So with regards to the lockdown, restrictions will be the same as those in Ballarat and metropolitan Melbourne, excluding the curfew, being only 5 reasons to leave your home.  For the full details on the restrictions please visit the DHHS website.

• Non-essential community-based programs will not be running
• All face to face group programs including our School Holiday program have been cancelled until 11.59pm Sunday 26 September   – (review at this date in line with the state government advice) If you had booked into one of our school holiday activities for next week you will be personally contacted by one of our friendly team to chat through.
