During the term we are going to focus on engaging with the local community, keeping active, learning new nutritious meals and how to grow your own food. We will work together on our individual goals to aim to become healthier whilst actively engaging in our local community, including experiencing different community groups and even volunteer opportunities.
A program designed for young people who are looking at becoming more independent in their lives, it is aimed at empowering and encouraging young people. Ideal for people who are looking at gaining skills, some work experience, volunteer experience, connecting with their local community and developing everyday skills.
Get Sporty is a group for young people to learn
and experience different sports in a fun and inclusive environment. Each term the participants of the group will spend times learning about different sports, practicing the skills for the sport before going and giving it a go at a local club. Each term we will try out five different sports. It is an active, fun filled afternoon complete with a healthy afternoon tea.
If you find the sport that is right for you, we will then work with you link and support you for as long as is required to transition to the local sporting club, allowing you to continue to learn and play your favourite sport with like-minded people.
