We are so excited to announce our itinerary for our upcoming trip to New Zealand North Island. We have 8 very excited participants booked to attend with 4 experienced and fun staff for an 8 day trip of a lifetime.

Saturday 24th November - Fly to Auckland and check in at the The Quadrant Hotel & Suites

Sunday 25th November - Group choice day - activity options include Auckland Zoo, catching public transport to nearby tourist destinations, city shopping,  One Tree Hill monument or other group choice.

Monday 26th November - Experince the best of Auckland with a City Sights and Afternoon Harbour Cruise.

Travel through the city centre and over the Auckland Harbour Bridge, enjoying views back to the city from the North Shore. Visit the Viaduct Harbour and Auckland's famous Queen Street before continuing to the Auckland Domain. The Domain is the city's oldest park, situated on a 62,000 year‐old extinct volcano. Within its 75 hectares are tropical gardens, duck ponds and public art, as well as the Auckland War Memorial Museum. The tour continues to Parnell Village for a short morning tea stop (own expense). Parnell's heritage buildings are home to a range of boutiques, craft and specialty shops. Next, journey along Tamaki Drive on the waterfront to Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park, above Mission Bay. Named after one of New Zealand's best‐loved Prime Ministers, the park offers panoramic views of the city and harbour. After returning to downtown Auckland, board your boat tour of the Waitemata Harbour. As you sail, the crew will provide a knowledgeable commentary about the city and its landmarks. Keep an eye out for Devonport's historic naval base and the Bean Rock Lighthouse. A brief stopover is included at volcanic Rangitoto Island. This distinctive Auckland landmark, formed by a series of eruptions around 600 years ago, is a thriving nature reserve as well as a popular day‐trip destination.
The afternoon will also include a trip to Auckland Skytower where the group will head up 186 metres to the main observation deck and then a further 9 stories up to the Sky Deck that has seamless views of Auckland City.

Tuesday 27th November - Travel from Auckland to Rotorua - stopping in at the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves for a tour and boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto.

World‐renowned and a magnet for both local and overseas visitors, the Waitomo Glowworm Caves occupy a high placing in the New Zealand vacationwish‐list. The glowworm, Arachnocampa luminosa, is unique to New Zealand. Thousands of these tiny creatures radiate their unmistakable luminescent light as our expert guides provide informative commentary on the Caves' historical and geological significance.
Waitomo Glowworm Caves are a must see for any traveller. Enjoy the world famous boat ride under thousands of magical glowworms and become a part of over 120 years of cultural and natural history.
Marvel at Mother Nature's light display as you glide silently through the starry wonderland of the Glowworm Grotto. Meander underground along the Waitomo River and gaze in silence at the myriad of glow worm lights that make up the Glowworm Grotto. As you enter this galaxy of tiny living lights, you'll immediately experience a serene ambience and be fascinated and intrigued by tiny glowworms that light your way
Check in to our hotel at Rotorua - Ramada Resort Rotorua Marama
Wednesday 28th November - Adventure time, with a trip up the Gondola at Skyline Rotorua. Here participants will have the option to purchase rides on the Skyline Luge - a winding go kart experience down the Rotorua Mountainside.
After a day of activities, we will head to the Tamaki Maori Village for a cultural evening tour and dinner.
Guests will transferred by coach to the Tamaki Maori Village which is set within a 200 year old Tawa forest. After the traditional Maori welcome, there will be time to enter the pre‐European village, which precedes a cultural performance and hangi meal. After dessert, guests
will have time to wander around the Tribal Marketplace before experiencing a traditional Maori farewell.
Thursday 29th November - It's Hobbiton Day! Step on to the set of Lord of the Rings and discover the real Middle‐earth on the most picturesque private farmland, near Matamata, in the North Island of New Zealand. Here you can visit
the Hobbiton Movie Set in a fascinating two‐hour guided tour. The set has been rebuilt permanently for filming of The Hobbit and features hobbit holes, The Green Dragon Inn, Mill, bridge and gardens. There are spectacular views across to the Kaimai Ranges from the rolling
green hills of the movie set, which is still a working sheep and beef farm. The Shire Store (situated below The Shires Rest) features a number of souvenirs related to the films to remind you of your visit.
Friday 30th November - FREE DAY - group choice activity
Saturday 1st December - Check out of our accommodation at Rotorua and make our way back to Auckland, stopping in at Hamilton to visit the award winning Botanical Gardens for lunch. Fly back to Melbourne and head home to tell our families about the memories we have made.
