Context:
The AAA Program consists of three components:
- A network of 24 AAA Program Providers (including councils and
community organizations) facilitates the delivery of sport and
recreation environments that are inclusive of people with a disability
right around Victoria. This network links with other key community-based
organisations such as health centres, neighbourhood houses, local
government, sporting groups and disability service providers to
create opportunities for people with disabilities to participate
in sport and leisure in their community.
- A Strategic Partnership provides strategic advice to SRV on
sport and recreation access issues for people with a disability
- The Access for All Abilities Initiative Fund makes funds available
to support projects that deliver innovative and sustainable approaches
to enhance the inclusion of people with a disability in sport
and recreation environments.
Leisure Networks focuses on developing inclusive
practices within sport and recreation environments. Inclusive practices
provide these organsiations with the structures and guidelines that
govern all activities. Leisure Networks achieve this by working
in partnership with;
- Sporting Clubs / Associations / State Sporting Associations
- Rural Access Workers
- Disability Agencies (includes Community Residential Units)
- Neighbourhood Houses
- Education Providers
